Doug Brody is a tax executive with over 20 years of experience advising clients on complex tax and contingent liability risks. Based in Chicago, IL, he has a strong history of structuring and securing tax insurance solutions for large-scale transactions across diverse industries.
Most recently, Doug served as Senior Vice President of Business Development, Tax at Lockton Companies, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s tax insurance practice by identifying opportunities, driving thought leadership, and facilitating tax insurance placements to help clients navigate complex tax risks. Prior to Lockton, he was a Managing Director at Aon Plc, where he contributed to the growth of the tax insurance and transaction liability business, securing bound policy limits exceeding $400 million for corporate and private equity clients. Doug also spent two decades at EY LLP, where he held senior leadership positions, including Tax Principal in the International Tax & Transaction Practice. At EY, he managed over $100 billion in buy-side and sell-side due diligence transactions, structured over $50 billion in corporate and PE-backed joint ventures, and led corporate integration efforts for transactions exceeding $100 billion. Additionally, he played a key role in training initiatives, serving as a lead instructor for EY-sponsored and client education programs.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Doug is a trusted advisor to boards of directors, providing strategic guidance on risk mitigation and complex corporate transactions. He is also deeply committed to community service, having served as a trustee and board member for two nonprofit organizations.
Doug earned an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from Cornell University Law School, and a B.B.A. in Corporate Finance (with distinction) from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He is a licensed attorney in New York and Illinois.
